A mad had designer who didn’t take clothing to seriously

Franco Moschino was typically described as a "mad hat" and an inventor with an imaginative, charismatic and irreverent character. He was reputed for his philosophy of not taking clothing to seriously. And he was able to transport this idea into all of his creations.

They came to life with a a sharp sense of humor and a strong touch of irony. He once said 'I think fashion is something you can laugh about forever, 'but in the end, it's the most difficult thing to laugh at because people take it very seriously.'

He worked for Versace

Artistic from childhood, Franco Moschino happened upon fashion almost by chance. Without a basic education, he became an illustrator for Gianni Versace and then broke away in 1983 to launch his own label. His perfect mastery of the classic rules of "cutting and stitching" are the base for all his creations. He started with casual wear and jeans and then quickly introduced shoes, highly original eveningwear, beautiful Moschino dresses, lingerie and at last a fragrance.

New interpretation incorporates his style

Moschino fashion style was based on the love for the graphic decoration of Fornasetti, the dadaism, the concept art of piero manzoni and the pop cultur. Moschino died in 1994 leaving his name to a totally new interpretation of fashion. His trademark is still alive as it incorporates his provocativeness, originality and sense of humor. Especially an extremely wide range of young customers love Moschino dresses and Moschino's originality.
